 OUR FOUNDERS

A.L.E.T.C. was founded by a father-and-son team of law enforcement officers: a police commander and his lieutenant son. After achieving success in business, they decided to give back to the community by creating the American Law Enforcement Foundation (501c3) to support law enforcement nationwide. As experienced law enforcement trainers, they recognized the need for continuing education and ensuring officers have access to the latest advances in equipment.

Over two decades ago, under the direction of Sheriff Lee Baca of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the founder began working with various departments within the organization on multiple programs. This eventually led to involvement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), focusing on weapon and equipment acquisitions and training.

Since those early days, they have assisted in the creation and training of SWAT teams for police departments nationwide. Their efforts have also supported law enforcement agencies ranging from the Grass Valley, CA Police Department to numerous agencies in New Mexico, and as far as Coral Gables, Florida.

In addition to training, they have constructed police stations, helped departments acquire essential equipment, and facilitated purchases ranging from weapons and training to the acquisition and use of armored vehicles.

Over the past decade, as many communities moved to defund the police, this father-and-son team stepped up, donating over $10 million to better equip and train law enforcement agencies across the country. Their extraordinary efforts were recognized by President Donald Trump for their dedication and contributions to law enforcement.

Miami boasts an abundance of clubs and bars, surpassing many major cities, with its growth showing no signs of slowing. The tragic events at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando serve as a grim reminder of the critical need for preparedness. During a three-hour standoff, an active shooter injured 102 people and claimed 49 lives, marking it as the deadliest club shooting incident in the United States. Similarly, at the Borderline Bar in Ventura, California, 13 lives were lost to another active shooter.

Given these alarming statistics, it's evident that law enforcement personnel require specialized training to effectively respond to active shooter situations in bar and club environments. Our CLUB training room is meticulously equipped to simulate these challenging scenarios, complete with strobe lights, laser effects, and a diverse library of sound effects, including loud music, yelling, gunfire, sirens, and alarms. This immersive training environment prepares officers to navigate the complexities of such high-pressure situations with skill and precision, ensuring they are equipped to protect lives and maintain public safety effectively.

TRAINING ROOMS #6 & 7 - THE SCHOOL

Our School training room is designed to replicate a standard school environment, complete with desks, chairs, and a layout typical of educational settings. This space allows officers to prepare for one of the most critical and emotionally charged scenarios: an active shooter in a school.

The need for this training is underscored by tragic events such as the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, where 26 lives were lost, including 20 children, making it one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. More recently, incidents like the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas, claimed 21 lives, highlighting the ongoing necessity for law enforcement to be equipped to respond swiftly and effectively in these situations.

This room is designed to immerse trainees in realistic scenarios, helping them develop situational awareness, tactical responses, and decision-making skills crucial for neutralizing threats and saving lives in school settings.

TRAINING ROOM #8 - THE STORE

Our Grocery/Convenience Store training room replicates a realistic retail environment, complete with aisles, shelves, and checkout areas, providing officers with essential training for armed robberies, active shooters, and hostage situations.

Incidents such as the 2021 Boulder, Colorado, grocery store shooting, which claimed 10 lives, and the 2024 Fordyce, Arkansas, grocery store shooting, where four were killed, underscore the critical need for preparedness. According to FBI data, convenience stores are frequent robbery targets, with nearly 268,000 robberies reported nationwide in 2019, and grocery stores experiencing 22 active shooter events between 2000 and 2019.

This space equips officers with the tactical and negotiation skills necessary to protect lives and ensure public safety in high-risk retail scenarios.
